WE ARE DONE!

Well, I think we are done :)  That was the text I had on my phone at 4a this morning from Melissa.  That would be 11a in Ukraine and their final embassy appointment was at 10a.  30minutes for embassy interview and 30minutes for VISA if she meant that too.

I tried calling her cell but their was no answer... could mean she's actually back in the Embassy (no phones) getting the VISA or the phone is out of batteries or their are at a movie or ... who knows.  But sounds like we should be in good shape.  I'll let Melissa update us all when she gets online but I wanted to update everyone on this now.

So if anyone wants to meet them at the airport with us Monday just let me know :)

  1. Got ahold of Melissa.
    * They have the Visa... Woohoo
    * They met the Rowells heading to the embassy for their first appointment
    * The Rowells' son Caden (sorry, if misspelled) went with Melissa to go shopping with Dennis and get lunch
    * They found a TGI Friday's with a *real* burger close to the apartment in a direction we hadn't explored.
    * They had lunch at TGI Friday's with two other American families adopting... Hert and Coffman (sp?). I know we found the Coffman's blog at one point.
    * They are now off to get Dennis some tennis shoes.

BTW the weather in Ukraine has been way better than here in VA. That has been a HUGE blessing as Melissa does NOT like the cold and even Dennis gets cold really easy. It looks like this crazy wind is going to die down in VA today which will be nice... LOT'S to do including hauling more wood up here.

  3. Thanks all... btw as a completely off topic comment. It only costs about 1.06 grivna ($0.13) to SMS a US cell number.

  4. Hooray for this good news! and what a relief :) I am thrilled for your family. thrilled also that melissa found the TGIF - we ate there too - it may be the only place in the whole country where you can get blue cheese dressing.
