We just got a call from "N" that the SDA folks are telling her they expect to close next week and stay closed until they transition to the other ministry For those who don't know what this means, it means that the SDA office, which does adoptions, won't be open to give us the appointment for the 2nd referral for the other children.
So we will let Snezhana know today that they will probably close next week so, if she's ready and wants to register a Yes that she wants to be adopted then it needs to be soon. We don't plan to push her into an answer if she still says I don't know. But, either way will stay until we are forced to leave after Monday when our referral runs out. We cannot continue to see the children past Monday if she has not given a YES answer. If the SDA is still open, then she will be required to give an answer no later than Monday. If it is closed, then obviously no answer will be needed, however our referral will have "run out" and we will not be allowed to see the kids after Monday.
We figure we won't have answers from all 4 kids this month anyway, so when we are allowed to return (hopefully in January) we will need to get new referrals for Snezhana and Dennis anyway. Maybe God is just telling us she needs that time to make up her mind, to have us leave so she can think about it more.
Please keep praying for everyone involved. She seems really scared to leave her grandma. We're off to see the kids now, so we'll post more when we get back tonight.
Closed, as in they are doing nothing? We need our papers from them so we can go to court!

Did N happen to say when they are re-opening for business? I had heard a couple of different weeks for their break, but no solid information. I am assuming this is just for their typical winter break and not based on "The Vote". Please correct me if I am assuming incorrectly.

ReplyDeleteYes, closed is in not doing business. Based on what we were told, this is not the typical winter break. This is because the budget was passed last week and the president signed something saying that the SDA would be moved under a different ministry. So, rumor is they may be closing down next week until they get moved and then re-open under the new ministry. IF this even happens, no one even knows when they would re-open for business again.
