Well, we weren't planning on needing to submit our dossier until August. Then they announced that the SDA will shutdown June 1st'ish just accelerated it. So now we have 3wks to get everything done... WOOHOO! Home study scheduled, contacts being reconnected with... I think the long poles are the Marriage Certificate (mom/dad might be seeing if you are headed to Sac any time soon) and Virginia State Police background check.
Ashley and Dennis are legally required to be interviewed this time since they are both 10. Dennis of course can't communicate and even in Russian he really doesn't. Ashley won't communicate... that should be interesting. I've impressed on her it is important.
Ali was also interviewed. Was kind of comical. Thankfully our social worker "got it" and was just happy with non verbal communication too. (Ali sat in my husband's lap the whole time, pulled on his cheeks, and was all around silly)

Fun... since we are going for 2 unrelated children in different regions we apparently have to do 2 dossiers. That'll be fun.
ReplyDeleteWe made 3 for our last trip... we were hoping to adopt 3 unrelated and I was told to do it just in case.... thats probably why making just 1 this time around seems so easy... I didnt realize your kids were in different REGIONS. That ought to be interesting...
