What's in store for today

That's really a question... bags are 95% packed sitting on the apartment floor.  I still have to find clean clothes to change into.  They are sealed in travel compression bags somewhere.

We are waiting on a call to see if we have an SDA app't

We are waiting to hear if someone we know called Snezhana just to let her know we'd like to restore lines of communication... no pressure.  See, we didn't get closure with her on Thursday so she would know we weren't angry with her.  She might not be ready, and that is ok, but we didn't want her thinking we were angry at her.

We are waiting to see if we got train tickets for tonight.

Up until a minute ago I was waiting for my wife to crawl out of bed :)

At some point we'll probably go out and continue the ritual... yogurt/banana for breakfast, McD's for lunch, Ukranian buffet for dinner.

I think we have everything we need regardless of our destination.  Yesterday we picked up some puzzles and crayons in case we are headed to Severodonetsk.  If we go to Severodonetsk, we still need to pick up a ball but those don't pack well... something medium-sized and soft that makes a good toy to play catch with even in a small room.  Denis has one so we are set if we go there... with his difficulties with eye/hand coordination a REALLY soft inflatable ball has made playing catch much safer for everyone :)

Since I'll [probably] be on a train tonight, I guess I won't be working.  I think I've actually been able to get mostly caught up this trip thanks to having such a great team.

  1. Some of you out there have or will stay in the same apartment we are... you know who you are.
    * The balcony doors don't shut completely so there is a light cool breeze coming from behind the curtains.
    * Detergent goes in compartment #2
    * Some of the lights are wired in series, not in proper 3-way. So you can play a little game trying to figure out which combination of switches have to be turned on for certain lights to be on. Still haven't figured out the 2nd colored light.
    * The shower doors leak out one side so keep the shower head from spraying the doors to minimize the clean-up.
    * You have to turn the key until it clicks twice to lock/unlock. The key looks like it should be to a haunted mansion.
    * The little battery looking thing unlocks the main building doors.
    * The jacuzzi tub works really well.

    I think that's about it.

  2. So we got an app't at 4p. We had to go in at 1p and sign something. Our facilitator wasn't able to meet us so I have no idea what we signed but assume it was some request for app't log book.

We have train tickets for tonight too.

Sitting at Sojo pizza waiting for borscht and pizza for lunch.

  3. Brian...I smiled at your apt. comments :) We stayed there and couldn't get the jacuzzi to turn off :) Also, couldn't figure out the light thing in the living area :) A GREAT apt. though...I would def. trade up from our last apt :) It's good to stay in all kinds, so you appreciate the better ones...lol

Thinking of you guys and sending warm wishes and prayers your way!

  4. So we are on the train in Kyiv. No dossier (required to schedule court) and no referral papers in hand. Plan for tomorrow is see Denis in the morning after we get off the train then head to Severodonetsk and the paperwork will hopefully meet us there.

So I'm not really sure what this means as for an answer... option 3? The vote is tomorrow so maybe that will help clarify.

  6. Just catching up again. Know that you are in the thoughts and prayers of many. Though it seems to be a huge guessing game, rest assured that the Lord has this under control and that He can do ANYTHING! Cling to His promises and walk by faith and not by sight.
    Many prayers & blessings, Kristy
